Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Texas
PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care (1 year of experience)
PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care experience within the last year
BLS
PALS
ACLS
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Experience with caring for patients with congenital heart disease and post-operative management of CHD patients
Experience with management of arterial lines, central lines, and transthoracic lines
Pediatrics CVICU experience

Preferred Experience

2 or more years of pediatric CICU/CVICU experience as a staff nurse
At least 1 year of experience caring for neonatal cardiac patients, including pre-op and post-op management
2 or more years of pediatric cardiac experience in step-down or cardiology floor

Unit Details

Pediatric CVICU / cardiac-focused unit
27 beds
Acuity-adaptive model caring for ICU and step-down level patients
Patient ratios: 1:1, 1:2, and at times 1:3

Central line and arterial line placement
Conscious sedation
Intubation and extubation
Post-op recovery for general and cardiac procedures
Sternal closures

ECMO cannulation and decannulation
