Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Texas
- PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care (1 year of experience)
- PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care experience within the last year
- BLS
- PALS
- ACLS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience with caring for patients with congenital heart disease and post-operative management of CHD patients
- Experience with management of arterial lines, central lines, and transthoracic lines
- Pediatrics CVICU experience
Preferred Experience
- 2 or more years of pediatric CICU/CVICU experience as a staff nurse
- At least 1 year of experience caring for neonatal cardiac patients, including pre-op and post-op management
- 2 or more years of pediatric cardiac experience in step-down or cardiology floor
Unit Details
- Pediatric CVICU / cardiac-focused unit
- 27 beds
- Acuity-adaptive model caring for ICU and step-down level patients
- Patient ratios: 1:1, 1:2, and at times 1:3

- Conscious sedation
- Intubation and extubation
- Post-op recovery for general and cardiac procedures
- Sternal closures
- Codes
- ECMO cannulation and decannulation
- CRRT
- Manual PD
