Job Overview
- Specialty: Labor & Delivery RN

Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Louisiana
- Labor and Delivery (1 year of experience)
- Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
- ACLS
- BLS
- NRP
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Ability to interpret fetal heart rate strips
- Proficiency in performing vaginal examinations
- Experience as an OB circulator
Key Skills / Experience
- Proficient in starting IVs and drawing labs
- Able to interpret fetal strips
- Proficient in vaginal exams
- OB circulator experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to scrub
Unit Details
- Labor & Delivery unit with 2 triage rooms, 10 labor rooms, and 2 ORs
- Typical patient ratio: 1:1 to 2:1 depending on acuity
- Common procedures include vaginal deliveries, C-sections, amniocentesis, amnioinfusions, and IUPC/FSE placement
Schedule / Call
- Rotates every other weekend
- Possible circulator call
Floating
- Closed unit
- May float to postpartum as C/L
