Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Louisiana
Labor and Delivery (1 year of experience)
Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
ACLS
BLS
NRP
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Ability to interpret fetal heart rate strips
Proficiency in performing vaginal examinations
Experience as an OB circulator

Key Skills / Experience

Proficient in starting IVs and drawing labs
Able to interpret fetal strips
Proficient in vaginal exams
OB circulator experience

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to scrub

Unit Details

Labor & Delivery unit with 2 triage rooms, 10 labor rooms, and 2 ORs
Typical patient ratio: 1:1 to 2:1 depending on acuity
Common procedures include vaginal deliveries, C-sections, amniocentesis, amnioinfusions, and IUPC/FSE placement

Schedule / Call

Rotates every other weekend
Possible circulator call

Floating

Closed unit
May float to postpartum as C/L
