Description
RN Observation Unit
Location: New Albany, Indiana
Schedule: 3rd shift, 7p–7a
Hours: 36 per week
Contract length: 13 weeks
Overview
Registered Nurse role providing direct patient care on an observation unit, including assessments, treatments, care coordination, discharge support, and patient/family education.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Indiana
- DOU - Direct Observation Unit experience within the last year
- 1 year of DOU - Direct Observation Unit experience
- BLS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Preferred Education
- BSN
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments
- Carry out nursing interventions, treatments, and medication administration within scope of practice
- Monitor patient condition and respond to changes appropriately
- Coordinate care, discharge planning, and patient/family education
- Delegate and oversee patient care tasks as appropriate
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities
