Job Overview
- Location: Overland Park, Kansas

Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Kansas
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Labor and Delivery (1 year of experience)
- Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
- BLS
- NRP
- Post Partum experience
Unit Details
- 26-bed unit
- Typical patient ratio: 6–8 patients
- Floating is within women’s services unless cross-trained to pediatrics and/or NICU
- No on-call requirement
Clinical Experience
- Post-partum
- LDRP
- Well baby nursery
- Recoveries
- Attending births for baby
Skills and Responsibilities
- Assess and identify risk factors related to sepsis, VTE/DVT, suicide, malignant hyperthermia, and pressure injury
- Provide discharge education and patient assessment
- Manage abnormal assessments, pain, time management, and prioritization of care based on acuity
- Use AIDET and BSSR
Procedures
- Circumcisions
Scheduling
- Typically includes 2 hard-to-staff shifts per week
- Includes 1 full weekend every 3rd week plus 1 additional weekend
Dress Code
- Black scrub pants
- Caribbean blue scrub top, vest, or jacket
