Job Overview

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Kansas
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Labor and Delivery (1 year of experience)
Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
BLS
NRP
Post Partum experience

Unit Details

26-bed unit
Typical patient ratio: 6–8 patients
Floating is within women’s services unless cross-trained to pediatrics and/or NICU
No on-call requirement

Clinical Experience

Post-partum
LDRP
Well baby nursery
Recoveries
Attending births for baby

Skills and Responsibilities

Assess and identify risk factors related to sepsis, VTE/DVT, suicide, malignant hyperthermia, and pressure injury
Provide discharge education and patient assessment
Manage abnormal assessments, pain, time management, and prioritization of care based on acuity
Use AIDET and BSSR

Scheduling

Typically includes 2 hard-to-staff shifts per week
Includes 1 full weekend every 3rd week plus 1 additional weekend
