Job Overview

Employment type: Travel/Contract
Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Shift: Day, 3x12 hours, 6:30 AM–7:00 PM
Weekend requirement: Up to 1 weekend shift per 4-week schedule period
On-call requirement: Up to 4 call shifts per 4-week schedule period
Floating: May float within scope to meet facility needs, including between like units/sister facilities
Contract length: 13 weeks
First-time travelers accepted: Yes
Local candidates accepted: Yes, case-by-case within 60 miles
Block scheduling: Requires manager approval and depends on unit needs
Guaranteed hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks

Required Qualifications

Certified Surgical Technologist with 2 years of experience
Certified Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
NBSTSA certification
BLS issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
South Carolina license verification required
Level I trauma experience/setting

Clinical Setting

Main OR in a level-one academic trauma center
Covers a full range of surgical cases, including trauma, transplant, ortho, neuro, ENT, GU-GYN, and robotics

Common Case Types

Ortho: total joints, spine, trauma
Neuro: crani, spine
ENT: flaps
Robotics
Transplants/Procurements
Trauma/Burns
GU/GYN

Additional Notes

Radiation badge required and must be provided by the agency
Scrubs are provided
Charting system: EPIC
Parking requires a hang tag registration fee; additional parking fees may apply outside the designated garage
Travelers should be aware of hurricane-season emergency response assignments from June through November
