Registered Nurse - Orthopedic Surgery

Location: Aurora, Colorado
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36

Unit Information

Specialty: Orthopedic/Spine
Unit Type: Orthopedic/Spine care including joint replacements, fracture repairs, and spinal injuries
Facility Size: 345 beds, 3-time Magnet Designation
Staffing: Float pool of about 80 staff; day and night shifts staffed by RNs and CNAs
Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:5 (varies by unit and shift)
Equipment: Various orthopedic-related equipment
EMR System: Meditech

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Minimum 1 year of orthopedic surgery experience within the last year
Acute care experience including medical-surgical (Med Surg) nursing
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
De-escalation skills in a healthcare setting

Preferred Qualifications

ACLS certification
Chemotherapy certification (for potential scheduling on Oncology unit)

Provide nursing care for orthopedic patients including those undergoing joint replacements, fracture repairs, and spinal injury treatment
