Description
RN - NICU
Overview
- Travel RN position in Dallas, Texas
- Specialty: NICU
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Hours per week: 36
- Schedule: 3 12-hour shifts per week, with rotating weekends and holidays
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Texas
- NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care (1 year of experience)
- NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care experience within the last year
- BLS
- NRP
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience working with Neonate patients
- Experience with preemies at least 28 weeks and above
- Management of central lines
- Respiratory management up to and including intubated patients
- Experience with surgical patients
- Experience with cardiac patients
- Experience with patients less than 27 weeks
- Care of tracheostomy infants
- Experience with broviacs
Unit Details
- 108-bed unit
- Patient ratio: 1:1 to 1:4
- Staffed with RNs, LVNs, PCTs, and Nurse Externs
- Floating may include PICU, Pediatrics, CICU, and care for patients under 2 years old
Clinical Experience Needed
- Experience with preemies 28 weeks and above
- Experience managing central lines
- Experience with respiratory management, including intubated patients
- Experience with surgical patients, cardiac patients, infants with trachs, and infants with broviacs

- Bubble CPAP

Procedures on the Unit
- Central line insertions
- Circumcisions
- Exploratory laparotomies
