Registered Nurse — Labor & Delivery
Location
- Des Moines, Iowa
Contract
- 13 weeks
- Temp

Setting / Assignment Details
- Labor & Delivery unit
- Traveler must float across all campuses
- Local candidates are not accepted; candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility based on driver’s license
- Orientation is firm on 9/28
- Must work 1–2 of the 3 upcoming summer holidays unless the unit is closed
Patient Care Environment
- High-risk OB, antepartum, c-sections, and vaginal deliveries
- 45-bed unit with 2 ORs
- Patient ratio: 1:1–2
- Drips used: magnesium, insulin, pitocin
- Approximately 150 deliveries/month at one site and 300–350 at another
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Iowa
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Labor and Delivery (1 year of experience)
- Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment in the previous 12 months
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- NRP
- AWHONN or EFM
- Experience working with Level 2 Trauma patients
- High risk OB experience in a level II trauma facility
- C-section experience
- Vaginal delivery experience
- Antepartum experience
- Post Partum experience
- Driver's License
- Experience with Epic
Preferred Qualifications
- Current/recent high-risk OB experience in a level I trauma facility
- Professional reference from within the last 24 months
Other Notes
- EPIC experience is required
- Hospital-provided scrubs
- NBO: 16 hours
