Description
PACU RN
Location
- Rio Rancho, New Mexico
Contract
- 13 weeks
- Travel/contract assignment
- New contracts and extensions must be at least 10 weeks
Schedule
- Day shift, 4x10 hours
- 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM
- On-call required: 6 shifts per 6 weeks
- Weekend coverage required: call only, with 2 weekend shifts and 4 night shifts per 6 weeks
- Floating may be required to Preop as needed
- Block scheduling is not available
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Mexico
- PACU - Post Anesthesia Care (1 year of experience)
- PACU - Post Anesthesia Care experience within the last year
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Driver's License
Additional Requirements
- First-time travelers accepted
- Local candidates within 100 miles are not accepted
- RTO greater than 7 days requires approval
- A 6-month break is required for travelers after 4 consecutive assignments or after reaching 1 year, whichever comes first
Unit Details
- PACU role with pre- and post-surgical care
- Cases include general surgery, orthopedics, urology/gynecology, bariatrics, HEENT, IR procedures, endoscopy, level 3 trauma, and some pediatric patients
