Description

PACU RN

Location

  • Rio Rancho, New Mexico

Contract

  • 13 weeks
  • Travel/contract assignment
  • New contracts and extensions must be at least 10 weeks

Schedule

  • Day shift, 4x10 hours
  • 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM
  • On-call required: 6 shifts per 6 weeks
  • Weekend coverage required: call only, with 2 weekend shifts and 4 night shifts per 6 weeks
  • Floating may be required to Preop as needed
  • Block scheduling is not available

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in New Mexico
  • PACU - Post Anesthesia Care (1 year of experience)
  • PACU - Post Anesthesia Care experience within the last year
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Driver's License

Additional Requirements

  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Local candidates within 100 miles are not accepted
  • RTO greater than 7 days requires approval
  • A 6-month break is required for travelers after 4 consecutive assignments or after reaching 1 year, whichever comes first

Unit Details

  • PACU role with pre- and post-surgical care
  • Cases include general surgery, orthopedics, urology/gynecology, bariatrics, HEENT, IR procedures, endoscopy, level 3 trauma, and some pediatric patients
