Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job
Overview
- Location: Orangeburg, South Carolina
- Specialty: Medical-surgical telemetry RN
- Setting: Acute care hospital
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Day shift, 3x12 hours
- Weekly hours: 36
- Patient ratio: 1:6
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
- On-call: Not required
- Floating: Required within scope to meet facility needs
- First-time travelers: Accepted
- Local candidates: Accepted within 60 miles
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in South Carolina
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- NIHSS
- Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
- Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
Preferred Experience
- Community hospital experience
Work Environment
- New unit being built from the ground up
- 18 beds
- Bedside monitoring includes tele, blood pressure, and pulse oximetry capability
- Charge coverage is split between stepdown and west unit
- Leadership is available off shift by phone
- 24/7 house supervisor coverage

- EPLS/GSA/SAM check
- HHS/OIG check
- Drug screen within 90 days of start
- TB screening and annual TB questionnaire
- Physical exam
- Tdap within 10 years or declination
- Immunity or vaccination documentation for measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption, if applicable for the season
- COVID vaccination documentation or declination
- Respirator clearance
- Color blindness testing
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam
- Competency exam
- Orientation modules and job description acknowledgment before start
- Badge photo required before start
