MFM Clinic Sonographer
Job Overview

Required Qualifications
- Completion of a diagnostic medical sonography program
- ARDMS Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (OB/GYN)
- ARDMS Fetal Echocardiography (FE)
- Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonography experience within the last year
- 1 year of Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonography experience
Preferred Experience
- 2 years of related work experience in Maternal Fetal Medicine or a high-risk obstetrics setting
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-risk obstetric ultrasound studies according to established protocols
- Assist physicians with invasive obstetric procedures such as amniocentesis and CVS
- Evaluate fetal anatomy, growth, and well-being; identify abnormal findings and obtain additional images as directed
- Provide patient education and support before, during, and after procedures
- Import images and clinical data into Viewpoint and PACS for accurate documentation
- Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and readiness for procedures
- Perform high-level disinfection of ultrasound transducers
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and clinical staff
- Participate in quality improvement and process improvement efforts
- Mentor new sonographers and students
Work Conditions
- Regular and sustained attendance is required
- May require work beyond a standard 40-hour week, including after-hours shifts
- On-call work may be required
- Role involves exposure to bloodborne pathogens, radiation, chemicals, disinfectants, infectious diseases, and emotionally challenging situations
