Description

Step Down Nurse

Overview

  • Travel/contract role in Hazard, Kentucky
  • 13-week assignment
  • Night shift
  • 36 hours per week
  • Local candidates only; must live within 75 miles of the facility
  • Extension will not be approved

Schedule and Work Expectations

  • Float within scope of practice is required
  • Every other weekend is required
  • Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated
  • Standard schedule is 36/48 for the two-week pay period unless otherwise noted

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Kentucky
  • Stepdown (2 years of experience)
  • Stepdown experience within the last year
  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • NIHSS
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Driver's License
  • Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
  • Driver’s license and matching address documentation
  • 2 references within 1 year of start date
  • 7-year work history verification
  • Background check
  • Drug screen within 30 days of start
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray
  • Tetanus/diphtheria/Tdap documentation
  • Measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, and varicella immunity or documentation
  • Skills checklist
  • Employment application with education and work history
  • Medication test/pharmacology competency exam
  • Core competency requirements
  • State-specific vulnerable adult maltreatment registry check
  • APS/CPS search results

Additional Notes

  • Orientation is bi-weekly
  • Latex allergy accommodations are available
  • Fit mask testing is completed onsite
  • PAPRs cannot be accommodated due to facial hair
  • Medical and religious exemptions may be considered case by case for flu vaccination
