Job Overview

  • Travel/contract RN position in Columbia, South Carolina
  • 13-week assignment
  • Day shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
  • Weekly hours: 36

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in South Carolina
  • Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
  • 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Orthopedics experience
  • Experience with Epic
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NIHSS

Scheduling

  • Every other weekend; 6 weekend shifts
  • Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Local candidates accepted within radius rule
  • All schedule requests must be submitted with the application and are subject to facility approval at booking

Clinical Notes

  • Adult 26-bed orthopedic spine unit
  • Typical patient mix includes med/surg, telemetry, cardiac, low-risk ACS, TIAs, diabetes, hypertension, COPD, dehydration, chest pain, DVT, and PE
  • Common procedures include bedside lumbar puncture, post-cath care, post-surgical care, post-renal biopsy care, CT angiography, and heparin drips
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5-6

Floating

  • May be required to float to other units or campuses as needed, within documented competencies

Compliance / Pre-Start Items

  • Pending license not accepted
  • Driver’s license or state ID required for computer access and must be carried on duty
  • Background check required
  • E-Verify or attestation required
  • OFAC, SAM, and HHS/OIG searches required
  • Education verification required
  • Physical exam required within 1 year of start
  • Badge photo required
  • Online orientation modules required before start
  • Pre-assignment testing required before start
  • CMS site documents required for RNs
  • Drug screen required within 1 year of start and updated annually
  • TB screening required
  • Flu vaccine documentation or approved exemption required
  • Core training and competency requirements apply before start and annually
