Job Overview
- Travel position in Las Cruces, New Mexico
- 13-week contract
- Role focuses on monitoring, developing, and implementing a risk management program for a medical center
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Mexico
- Risk Manager (3 years of experience)
- Risk Manager experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience in a(n) Acute Care setting
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field
- Graduate of a school of nursing
- Claims Management and/or Risk Management certification
- 3 to 5 years of claims/risk management experience in an acute care facility, if not holding an RN license
Key Responsibilities
- Design and coordinate a comprehensive risk management program
- Review, coordinate, and develop risk management policies and procedures
- Investigate, analyze, document, and recommend actions on potentially compensable events, claims, and litigation
- Implement claim handling actions authorized by leadership
- Identify and support risk reduction opportunities and projects
- Provide risk management education to staff
- Work with administration, staff, medical staff, and corporate representatives to maintain communication and regulatory compliance
- Participate in committees and work teams
- Maintain systems for managing information relevant to the risk management program
- Communicate with external organizations such as insurance representatives, adjusters, and attorneys
