Progressive Care RN

Location

Hilo, Hawaii

Schedule

  • Scheduled 36 hours per week after the first week of orientation
  • No guarantee of hours
  • No call

Unit Details

  • Progressive Care Unit
  • 15-bed unit
  • 3 step-down ICU beds and 12 telemetry beds
  • Typical ratios: 1:4 for Progressive Care, 1:3 for Step-down ICU

Job Duties

  • Primary nursing care
  • Telemetry monitoring
  • Telemetry strip reading
  • Fingerstick blood sugar

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Hawaii
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Experience in an Acute Care setting
  • Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
  • Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience (1 year of experience)
  • PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience
  • Telemetry experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Progressive Care experience
  • Telemetry experience
  • ACLS
  • PALS
  • NIHSS certification

Floating

  • Floats to all acute units in house, including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER

Equipment / Systems

  • Meditech charting
  • Pyxis medication system
  • BiPAP
  • Continuous cardiac monitoring

Dress Code

  • Scrubs
