Registered Nurse

Job Overview

  • Travel/contract role in Winston-Salem, North Carolina
  • 13-week contract
  • Day shift, 3x12 hours
  • 36 hours per week
  • Start-to-finish schedule includes every other weekend
  • Floating is required to other Med/Surg/Telemetry areas and may include COVID care units
  • RTO after booking is not allowed

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in North Carolina
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NIHSS
  • Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
  • Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
  • 2 or more completed travel assignments
  • IV Start capability
  • Management of dysrhythmias

Skills Needed

  • IV start
  • Telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia management
  • Med/Surg neuro experience

Unit Details

  • Primary patient population includes stroke patients
  • Also cares for neurosurgery and other neuro diagnoses, including epilepsy and subdural hematomas
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6
  • Unit orientation is 36 hours
  • Scrubs: navy

Scheduling Notes

  • Preferred scheduling
  • Block scheduling is not guaranteed
  • Missed scheduled weekend shifts must be made up based on unit needs

Additional Notes

  • Local candidates are accepted
  • ACLS is preferred but not required
