Job Details

Location: State College, Pennsylvania
Employment type: Travel/Contract
Contract length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night, 3x12 hours
Hours per week: 36
Schedule notes: Every other weekend; floating required
Patient ratio: 1:6–7
Scrubs: Navy blue

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Pennsylvania
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Med Surg / Telemetry (1 year of experience)
Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
NIHSS

Compliance and Onboarding

Government-issued photo ID
Background check, including 7-year criminal search, SS trace, county searches for the last 7 years of locations lived/worked/in school, nationwide search, sex offender search, and Pennsylvania statewide patch search
EPLS/GSA/SAM check
HHS/OIG check
Education verification
Pennsylvania child abuse search
Pennsylvania FBI fingerprinting results on file before start
2 professional references within 3 years of hire
Skills checklist
Annual competency exam and medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable

Health Requirements

Physical exam within 1 year of start
Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframe
Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
Tdap vaccination within the past 10 years
Measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, and varicella immunity/documentation as specified by facility policy
COVID vaccine or facility declination
Flu vaccine or facility declination during flu season
Breathalyzer test within 30 days of start

Additional Notes

Orientation packet, medical surveillance checklist, and bloodborne pathogen quiz must be completed before start
MAB, CPI, or comprehensive crisis management certification may be required for certain units
Annual certification renewal is required for some facility-specific trainings
