Labor and Delivery RN
Job Overview
- Location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana
- Employment type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Night, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Weekly hours: 36
- Contract length: 13 weeks
Role Details
- Labor and delivery nursing assignment with postpartum coverage
- Unit mix: 80% labor and delivery, 20% mother-baby/postpartum
- Weekend rotation or coverage will be discussed during interview
- Minimal requested time off
- No local candidates
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Louisiana
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
- 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience
- Prior travel experience required
- Post Partum experience
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
Required Pre-Start Items
- Photo ID
- Background check
- EPLS/GSA/SAM screening
- HHS/OIG screening
- Competency exam
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Respirator fit testing
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
- Drug screen within 90 days prior to start
- System access and confidentiality agreement
- HealthStream onboarding completion
Additional Notes
- Influenza vaccination documentation is not required for employment, but a vaccine or declination form should be kept on file
- Medical or religious exemption requests are handled through facility-specific forms
