EP Lab RN Travel Contract

Overview

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse
  • Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
  • Employment type: Travel/Contract
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Day, 4x10 hours
  • Hours per week: 40
  • Average daily census: 15 cases

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in North Carolina
  • Electrophysiology Lab (3 years of experience)
  • Electrophysiology Lab experience within the last year
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Key Clinical Skills

  • Electrophysiology (EP) lab
  • Dysrhythmia interpretation
  • Cardiac ablation and mapping
  • Pacemaker and ICD procedures
  • Watchman and left atrial appendage closure
  • Laser-assisted procedures
  • Scrub, circulate, and sterile technique
  • EKG lead placement and accurate monitoring
  • Arrhythmia induction and conduction studies
  • Equipment setup and supply stocking
  • Prep access site
  • Recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias

Procedures and Equipment

  • Ablations: VT, PVI, CV, A-Flutter, AV Node
  • ICD/pacer placement and exchanges
  • Laser lead extraction
  • Lead extraction
  • PFA, Cryo, ESI, IVUS, Cardio Lab

Schedule Notes

  • Assigned late coverage each week
  • May be asked to stay to help meet 40 hours if rooms end early
  • Overtime is not expected but may occur

Unit Information

  • Unit orientation: 30 hours
  • Scrubs provided

Important Assignment Policies

  • No RTO after booking
  • Additional RTO or call-offs may lead to cancellation and do-not-return status
  • May be assigned to storm, hurricane, mass casualty, or disaster coverage
  • May be reassigned within the centralized office mid-contract if needed
