EP Lab RN Travel Contract

Overview

Specialty: Registered Nurse
Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Employment type: Travel/Contract
Contract length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day, 4x10 hours
Hours per week: 40
Average daily census: 15 cases

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in North Carolina
Electrophysiology Lab (3 years of experience)
Electrophysiology Lab experience within the last year
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Key Clinical Skills

Electrophysiology (EP) lab
Dysrhythmia interpretation
Cardiac ablation and mapping
Pacemaker and ICD procedures
Watchman and left atrial appendage closure
Laser-assisted procedures
Scrub, circulate, and sterile technique
EKG lead placement and accurate monitoring
Arrhythmia induction and conduction studies
Equipment setup and supply stocking
Prep access site
Recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias

Procedures and Equipment

Ablations: VT, PVI, CV, A-Flutter, AV Node
ICD/pacer placement and exchanges
Laser lead extraction
Lead extraction
PFA, Cryo, ESI, IVUS, Cardio Lab

Schedule Notes

Assigned late coverage each week
May be asked to stay to help meet 40 hours if rooms end early
Overtime is not expected but may occur

Unit Information

Unit orientation: 30 hours
Scrubs provided

Important Assignment Policies

No RTO after booking
Additional RTO or call-offs may lead to cancellation and do-not-return status
May be assigned to storm, hurricane, mass casualty, or disaster coverage
May be reassigned within the centralized office mid-contract if needed
