Echo Tech/Cardiac Sonographer

Overview

• Shift: Day shift, Monday–Thursday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
• Hours: About 36 hours per week
• Setting: Outpatient medical pavilion
• Patient volume: About 10–12 studies per day
• Staffing: Solo tech on shift

Required Qualifications

• Echo Technologist with 2 years of experience
• Echo Technologist experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• RDCS or RCS or CCI
• RVT
• Vascular Sonographer experience
• Vascular studies experience including lower extremity veins (LEVs), lower extremity arteries (LEAs), ankle-brachial indices (ABIs), carotid studies, upper extremity arteries (UEAs), upper extremity veins (UEVs), and groin duplex including pseudoaneurysm evaluation

Work Expectations

• No on-call
• No weekend requirement
• No floating between service lines
• No floating to sister facilities

Compliance / Pre-Start Requirements

• Radiation badge required and must be provided by the agency
• Annual background check required
• Education verification required
• Proof of 2 clinical references required
• Complete application/resume required
• Skills checklist required for the applicable unit
• South Carolina state exclusion list required
• Work history verification required for the last 3 clinical employers
• Drug screen required within 90 days of start
• TB testing required within 90 days of start
• Tdap required within 10 years of start or declination
• Annual TB questionnaire required
• Physical exam required annually
• COVID vaccination documentation is preferred; declination accepted if not provided
• Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
• Respirator clearance required annually for patient-facing travelers
• Color blind testing required before start

Additional Notes

• Local candidates are accepted on a case-by-case basis
• Local radius is 60 miles
• All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application
• Hurricane season assignments may include emergency response duties from June through November
• Navy blue scrubs are required
• Epic is the preferred charting system
