Description

RRT - Respiratory Therapy

Overview

  • Travel role in San Antonio, Texas
  • Full-time
  • Day shift: 6:45 AM - 7:00 PM
  • Contract length: 13 weeks

Role Summary

  • Provides pulmonary care for critical, non-critical, and chronically ill adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients under physician direction with minimal supervision.
  • Performs patient assessments, respiratory care plans, and technical/diagnostic respiratory therapy procedures across the hospital.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Texas
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
  • 1 year of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association
  • PALS issued by American Heart Association
  • NRP

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 - 3 years of experience preferred

Key Responsibilities

  • Emergency response for Code Blue and Code White
  • Airway management, including nasotracheal and endotracheal suctioning
  • Aerosolized drug delivery
  • Ventilator setup and operation
  • Oral hygiene
  • Airway retaining device placement and maintenance
  • Airway support device management, including BiPAP and CPAP
  • Oxygen delivery and therapeutic monitoring
  • Chest film analysis
  • Blood gas collection and analysis
  • EKG analysis
  • Documentation
  • Cleaning and stocking equipment and supplies
  • CAP and JC survey participation
  • May function as Shift Leader or Team Leader
  • Advanced practice skills may include therapeutic gas management and monitoring, including INO and HeO2; Pulmonary Function Testing; bronchoscopy assist; hemodynamic monitoring; waveform analysis; nocturnal SpO2 evaluation; polysomnography; and transport duties
