Description

Respiratory Therapist

Overview

  • Contract role in Gunnison, Colorado
  • 13-week assignment
  • 36 hours per week
  • 12-hour shifts, rotating weekends
  • Early shifts start at 6:00am to 6:30pm
  • 2 on-call shifts per week

Role Summary

  • Provide therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory care in inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Work under the direction of ordering physicians and the supervision of the Cardiopulmonary Director
  • Support adult, pediatric, and newborn respiratory care
  • Assist with orientation and training of new clinical staff
  • Participate in community education and development

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved and accredited respiratory care program
  • Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Colorado
  • Respiratory Therapist (5 years of experience)
  • Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
  • Experience working with Neonate patients
  • Experience in an Acute Care setting
  • 5 years of newborn/NICU experience
  • 3 years of acute Respiratory Care medicine experience including General Floor Care, Emergent Medical and Trauma Stabilization/Treatment, and Newborn Stabilization
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • NRP
  • NBRC
  • Certified Respiratory Therapy - NICU experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cardiopulmonary Diagnostics
  • Pulmonary and Cardiac Rehabilitation

Additional Notes

  • Working knowledge of Pulmonary Function Studies and testing is part of the role
  • Rural Gunnison does not have public transportation, so reliable transportation is needed
