Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST)

• Huntington, West Virginia

Assignment Details

• Travel/Contract
• 13 weeks
• Day shift: 5x8 hours, 7:00–15:00
• Rotating schedule: 0700–1500 and 1500–2300
• No call
• Weekends required
• Scrubs provided

Required Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (2 years of experience)
• Certified Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• Government-issued photo ID / state ID required and must be carried on person during hours of service
• Active state license verification required, if applicable
• Transcript or diploma required; education verification may be used as a substitute for a diploma
• Competency exam required
• Medication test / pharmacology competency exam required
• Physical exam required and must be updated annually
• Proof of 2 clinical references

Schedule Restrictions

• No RTO approvals during Thanksgiving week, Christmas, and New Year’s

Health Requirements

• TB screening / negative TB or chest X-ray required
• Tdap required within 10 years
• Flu vaccination required by 10/1 during flu season; medical or religious exemptions require approval
• COVID seasonal vaccine required; initial series preferred
• Hepatitis B documentation required
• Hepatitis A antibody required
• Hepatitis C antibody required
• Measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella immunity documentation required

Additional Compliance Items

• Background check required
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check required
• HHS/OIG check required
• Drug screen required
• New hire form, confidentiality agreement, standards of behavior, user ID and IT access, OSHA post-test, voluntary self-identification, and COVID form must be completed prior to start
• Hospital policies must be reviewed
• Flu and vaccine exemption forms may be required if declining applicable vaccines
