PCU

Overview

Travel/Contract role in Greensboro, North Carolina
Day shift: 3x12s, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
Every other weekend; holidays as needed
Floating required as needed
Contract length: 13 weeks
First-time travelers accepted

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in North Carolina
PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Driver's License
Telemetry experience
Experience with Epic

Clinical Focus

Cardiac patients, including congestive heart failure, rule-out myocardial infarction, acute coronary syndrome, and arrhythmias
Secondary focus on respiratory problems such as COPD and pneumonia
Common patient diagnoses include heart failure, respiratory failure, NSTEMI, COPD, and pneumonia

Licensure / Verification

North Carolina RN license
NURSYS verification within 60 days of start

Employment application/resume with 7-year work history
2 supervisory references
Annual skills checklist
Work history verification for the last 5 years
Orientation safety manual acknowledgement
Pass/fail testing and competency requirements apply to RNs
Health and immunization compliance required, including Tdap, TB screening, MMR immunity, varicella immunity, Hepatitis B status, drug screening, and flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
