Progressive Cardiac Care Unit RN

Overview

  • Travel RN assignment in a Progressive Cardiac Care Unit
  • Unit: PCCU 63101
  • 34 beds
  • Located on the 2nd floor of the main hospital building
  • Floating is within scope of practice
  • No on-call requirement
  • 36 hours per week
  • Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Texas
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience
  • Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
  • Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year

Preferred Qualifications

  • PCCN, TNCC, TCAR certifications
  • Experience in ICU/PCU level of care
  • Precepting experience

Unit Details

  • Staffing: 11 PCTs and 12 RNs on day shift; 6 PCTs and 13 RNs on night shift
  • Patient ratios: 1:5 for PCU level, 1:6 for MST level
  • Equipment includes VS machines, EKG, bladder scanning, glucometers, and continuous pulse oximetry
  • Typical procedures: Foley and NGT insertions, wound care

  • The unit is the hospital’s official trauma PCU
  • Scheduling is described as flexible
