Progressive Cardiac Care Unit RN

Overview

Travel RN assignment in a Progressive Cardiac Care Unit
Unit: PCCU 63101
34 beds
Located on the 2nd floor of the main hospital building
Floating is within scope of practice
No on-call requirement
36 hours per week
Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Texas
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
BLS
ACLS
Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience
Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year

Preferred Qualifications

PCCN, TNCC, TCAR certifications
Experience in ICU/PCU level of care
Precepting experience

Unit Details

Staffing: 11 PCTs and 12 RNs on day shift; 6 PCTs and 13 RNs on night shift
Patient ratios: 1:5 for PCU level, 1:6 for MST level
Equipment includes VS machines, EKG, bladder scanning, glucometers, and continuous pulse oximetry
Typical procedures: Foley and NGT insertions, wound care

Additional Notes

The unit is the hospital’s official trauma PCU
Scheduling is described as flexible
