Labor and Delivery

Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Seattle, Washington
• Night shift: 3x12 hours, 19:00–7:30
• 36 hours per week
• 13-week contract
• 1 year of experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Locals at same rate

Unit / Setting

• High Risk / High Volume L&D
• 4 ORs
• 31 rooms
• 31 beds
• Average daily census: 15
• 500–600 deliveries per month

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Washington
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Labor and Delivery (1 year of experience)
• Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• Antepartum experience
• Post Partum experience
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or Heart Stroke Foundation
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
• EFM - Electronic Fetal Monitoring

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS
• AWHONN Advanced
• AWHONN Intermediate

Float / Coverage

• Float required to Postpartum and Antepartum
• May also float to sister facilities that do Mother/Baby

Schedule Notes

• Work every other weekend and holidays as needed
• Pre-approved time off is case by case
• Schedule is posted every 6 weeks and adjusted to unit needs

Clinical Details

• Supports midwifery clients, private OBs, Adult Recovery Services supporting substance recovery, and community care clinics
• Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines
• Newborn care includes eyes, thighs, assessment, and Vit K injections
• Heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate are used in the role
