Description

Respiratory Therapist

Overview

  • Role: Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT)
  • Specialty: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
  • Location: Charleston, West Virginia
  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
  • Schedule: 3x12 nights, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, weekdays with some weekends
  • Shift Notes: Float as needed
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit / Setting

  • Facility Type: Short-Term Acute Care, Level 1 Trauma Center, major teaching hospital
  • Beds: 855 staffed beds
  • Charting: Cerner

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Respiratory Therapist license in West Virginia
  • Respiratory Therapist (1 year of experience)
  • Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications

  • Adults and/or Peds case experience

Clinical Experience / Case Types

  • Critical Care
  • General Care
  • Adults and/or Peds

Scheduling / Float

  • Float within scope as needed
  • Float to sister facilities
  • Block schedule may be accommodated but is not guaranteed
  • Local travelers within 100 miles; 75–100 miles may be considered as an exception

Compliance / Pre-Start Requirements

  • Flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
  • COVID vaccination is not required
  • Tdap required
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray required
  • Drug screen required
  • Physical exam required
  • Color blind testing required
  • In-service training modules required before start

Additional Notes

  • On-call is not required
  • Guaranteed hours: 72–80 per pay period
  • Parking garage is free for travelers
