RN- MS/Tele (ACE Unit-Acute Care for the Elderly)

Overview

Travel/contract RN role in Columbia, South Carolina
13-week assignment
Night shift: 3x12 hours, 19:00–7:30
Every other weekend

Unit

ACE Unit-Acute Care for the Elderly
26 beds
Telemetry-capable care for hospitalized patients aged 65 and older
Ratio: 1:5

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in South Carolina
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Med Surg / Telemetry (1 year of experience)
Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
IV starts
Blood product administration
Central line management
Peripheral line management
PICC line management
Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
Heparin protocols
Geriatric-focused care
Experience with Epic

Preferred

Accepts first-time travelers
Locals accepted within radius rule

Scheduling and Assignment Notes

RTO, block scheduling, and special scheduling requests must be included with submission and are subject to facility approval at booking
Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
Agency staff are required to float as needed to other units or campuses where qualified and documented competencies exist

Compliance Notes

Pending license is not accepted
Driver’s license/state ID is required for computer access and must be carried while on duty
Badge photo is required
Pre-assignment testing and online orientation modules are required before start
