Overview

• Travel RN assignment in Corpus Christi, Texas.
• Unit: 2 West.
• Floor/Building: 2 West / Doctors Regional.
• 36 hours per week.
• Contract length: 13 weeks.

Unit Details

• Med/Surg unit with 8 inpatient beds and 8 admission unit beds, occasionally flexing to 12 inpatient beds depending on hospital census.
• Typical staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 2 RNs, and 1 PCA on both day and night shifts.
• Maximum patient ratio is 6:1.
• Uses Meditech.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Texas.
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association.
• BLS issued by American Heart Association.
• Med Surg / Telemetry (1 year of experience).
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of acute med/surg experience within the last year.
• Ortho or neuro-surgery background.
• Med/Surg/Telemetry background.

Responsibilities

• Care for med/surg patients.
• Perform IV insertions, urinary catheter insertion/maintenance, central line maintenance, medication administration, communication with the care team, and documentation in EHR.

Floating

• May float to med/surg units.

Schedule

• Normally rotating weekends.
• May be as needed for travel RNs.

• Scrubs required.
