Description
Med Surg/Telemetry (Nights)
Overview
- Temp Registered Nurse (RN) role in Des Moines, Iowa.
- 13-week contract.
- Nights, 12 hours per day.
- Unit has 15 beds and cares for all types of med surg patients.
- Patient ratio is 4-5:1.
- Tele tech unit monitoring is remote.
- Uses EPIC.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Iowa.
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
- 2 years of experience in Med Surg / Telemetry.
- Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year.
- One completed travel assignment.
- Experience in charge roles.
- Experience with heparin.
- Experience with Epic.
- Driver's License.
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Preferred Qualifications
- Skills in telemetry/cardiac background.
- 24 months of current Med Surg / Medical Surgical / Med Surg Tele experience.
- Professional reference / reference check from within the last 24 months.
Additional Details
- No locals accepted; candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility based on driver’s license.
- Past employees of UPH in FTE or PRN float pool roles cannot work travel in another market within 12 months; prior UPH travel roles are not affected.
- Contractor is required to work 1-2 of the 3 upcoming holidays unless the unit is closed.
- Traveler will float across all campuses: Iowa Methodist MC, Iowa Lutheran, and Iowa Methodist.
- Scrubs: navy blue, solids.
