Unit: J4-NSICU
Building: J
12 beds
Patient ratio: 1:2
Hours per week: 36
Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in North Carolina
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Neuro ICU (2 years of experience)
Neuro ICU experience within the last year
ACLS
BLS
NIHSS
Neurology experience
Care of post-neurosurgery patients
CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy) experience
Bedside EVD (External Ventricular Drain) management
A-line monitoring

Preferred

Neurology experienced ICU nurses preferred

Unit Details

Documentation system: Cerner
Equipment: Baxter pumps
Scheduling: Self schedule; unit needs; 6 weekend shifts per period
Floating: Travelers float first to other ICUs or to step down
Required uniform: Navy Blue

Clinical Focus

Care of Neurology post thrombectomy and TPA patients
Post Neurosurgery patients
Procedures performed on unit: CRRT, Bedside EVD’s, A-line monitoring
