Operating Room RN

Overview

• Travel/contract role in Charleston, South Carolina
• Day shift: 3x12s, 6:30 AM–7:00 PM
• 13-week contract
• On-call required: 4–6 call shifts per 4 weeks
• Holiday call may be required
• Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis if within 60 miles
• RTO must be submitted at time of application
• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in South Carolina
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• 2 years of experience in Operating Room nursing
• OR - Operating Room (2 years of experience)
• OR - Operating Room experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• Ability to circulate general surgery cases for surgical oncology, colorectal, MIS (DaVinci), plastics, endocrine, pancreatic/biliary, and bariatric procedures

Additional Requirements

• Radiation badge required; agency provides the badge
• Proof of 2 clinical references
• Complete application/resume with PTO, contract assignments, agency names, and no unaccounted gaps
• Annual background check
• Education verification required
• Annual work history verification for the last 3 clinical employers
• South Carolina state exclusion list clearance required
• Fit test required within 90 days of start and annually
• 10-panel drug screen required within 90 days of start
• Physical exam required and updated annually
• Tdap required within 10 years of start or declination
• TB test or chest X-ray required within 90 days of start
• COVID vaccination documentation preferred; declination accepted if not vaccinated
• Flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
• Color blind testing required before start
• Orientation modules must be completed before start

Work Setting

• General OR in a Level I Trauma Center, teaching facility, and Magnet hospital
• Uses EPIC for charting

Notes

• Parking requires a $20 hang tag registration fee
• Hurricane season assignments may include emergency response duties
