Dialysis RN

Overview

• Travel/contract RN role in Wilmington, North Carolina
• Day shift: 3x12, 6:45 AM–7:15 PM
• 36 hours per week
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• First-time travelers accepted

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• 2 years of dialysis experience
• Dialysis experience within the last year
• Acute hemodialysis experience
• Experience with Fresenius hemodialysis equipment
• Experience with Baxter peritoneal dialysis equipment

Preferred

• CDN or CNN
• ACLS
• CAPD experience

Schedule and Work Expectations

• Float as needed
• On-call required on Sundays from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM as part of the RN Sunday rotation
• Every other weekend required
• May be assigned support tasks in another department if there are no peritoneal dialysis or hemodialysis patients
• May be assigned to work during a storm team, hurricane team, catastrophic event, mass casualty, or disaster
• Consolidation to the centralized office may occur mid-contract, with preassignment to units as needed

Unit Details

• Acute hemodialysis unit with 9 stations and 1 isolation station
• Hemodialysis room runs two shifts per day
• ICU/PCU and bedside treatments are 1:1
• Patient transport is requested through Epic

Equipment and Systems

• Fresenius T hemodialysis machines with CliC and Bibag
• Marcor Millenium HX portable reverse osmosis machines
• Pyxis
• EPIC Dimensions
• Voalte phone for verbal report

Orientation

• 24 hours total
• 12 hours ICU/offsite
• 12 hours dialysis room/peritoneal dialysis

Additional Notes

• RTO after booking is not allowed
• Scrubs provided
