Description
Labor and Delivery RN
Overview
- Travel/Contract role in Seattle, Washington
- 13-week assignment
- Day shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00–19:30
- 36 hours per week
- High-risk, high-volume L&D with 4 ORs
- 31 rooms and 31 beds
- Average daily census: 15/day; 500–600 deliveries/month
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Washington
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
- 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience
- Experience working with high-risk Labor and Delivery patients
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
- EFM - Electronic Fetal Monitoring
- Experience circulating for C-sections
- Experience with newborn assessment
- Experience assisting with circumcision and assessing the site post-op
- Experience administering IV antibiotics
- Experience with cord care
- Experience with infant identification
- Experience with thermoregulation
- Experience managing newborn hypoglycemia
Preferred Qualifications
- ACLS
- AWHONN Advanced
- AWHONN Intermediate
Unit Details
- Float required to postpartum and antepartum
- May float to sister facilities that do Mother/Baby
- Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines
- Work every other weekend and holidays as needed
- Pre-approved time off is reviewed case by case
- First-time travelers accepted
