Certified OB Tech
Location: Seattle, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day, 3x12 hours, 7:00–19:00
Hours per Week: 36
Overview
- First-time travelers are accepted.
- The role requires floating to other campuses, including Swedish Issaquah.
- Patient age group: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics.
- Patient volume/load: 5 ventilators, 6–8 RVUs.
- Rooms: 500.
Required Qualifications
- Valid OB Technician license in Washington.
- OB Technician (5 years of experience).
- OB Technician experience within the last year.
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation.
- NBSTSA or NCCT.
Preferred Qualifications
- Pulmonary Function Test Lab experience.
Skills and Clinical Experience
- Airway management devices/suctioning: extubation, intubation assist, nasal airway placement, nasal airway suctioning, oral airway placement, oropharyngeal suctioning, sputum specimen collection, tracheostomy suctioning.
- Medication administration experience with: Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, Inhaled Flolan, Inhaled steroids, Isuprel, Lidocaine, Mucomyst, Nitric Oxide (INo), Perforomist, Pulmicort, Racemic epinephrine, Spiriva, Terbutaline Sulfate, Theophylline, Tobramycin, Xopenex.
- Medication delivery systems: aerosol set up mask, aerosol set up trach, Medihaler, metered dose inhaler.
- Nebulizer types: cold, hand held, heated, ultrasonic, T-piece, trach collar.
- Ventilator management: BiPAP, Flow-by, CPAP, high frequency oscillator, troubleshooting high pressure alarms, weaning from mechanical ventilation.
- Professional knowledge and skills: ABG interpretation, Basic EKG.

- Scrubs: Any.
- Weekend coverage is variable.
