Med Surg/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Overview

• Temp assignment in Des Moines, Iowa
• Nights, 12 hours per day
• 13-week contract
• Unit has 15 beds and cares for all types of med surg patients
• Patient ratio is 4-5:1
• Tele tech unit monitoring is remote
• Scrubs: Navy blue, solids

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Iowa
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Experience in Charge roles
• Driver's License
• Experience with cardiac or critical care drips
• Experience with Epic

Preferred Qualifications

• Skills in telemetry/cardiac background
• Work history/resume/employment history with 24 months of current Med Surg / Medical Surgical / med surg tele experience
• Professional reference/reference check from charge/supervisor/nurse manager/director/CNO/COO within 24 months of today’s date

Scheduling and Assignment Details

• Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming holidays unless the unit is closed
• Orientation date options include 10/12, 11/9, 11/23, 12/7, and 12/21
• NBO: 16 hours
• Traveler will be required to float across all campuses: Iowa Methodist MC, Iowa Lutheran, and Iowa Methodist
• Local candidates are not accepted; candidates must be at least 50 miles from the facility based on driver’s license
• Past employees of UPH who were FTE or PRN for the UPH float pool cannot work travel in another market within 12 months
• If the person worked travel at UPH, the separation policy does not apply
