Description

Respiratory Therapist

Overview

  • Travel/Contract role in Charleston, West Virginia
  • Based at a women’s and children’s hospital
  • 13-week assignment
  • Night shift: 3x12, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Weekdays with some weekends
  • Float as needed, including to sister facilities
  • Orientations are every other Monday

Clinical Focus

  • Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
  • Needs some Peds / NICU experience
  • Types of cases: Critical Care, General Care, Adults and/or Peds

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Respiratory Therapist license in West Virginia
  • Respiratory Therapist (1 year of experience)
  • Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • Experience working with Adult or Pediatric patients
  • Experience working with Neonate or Pediatric patients
  • Experience with pediatric and neonatal intensive care
  • Experience with critical care
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Social Security Card
  • 1 reference from a Manager, Supervisor, or Charge Nurse from a facility worked within 1 year of start

Schedule and Assignment Details

  • Weekend work required
  • On-call not required
  • Open to block scheduling, but not guaranteed
  • 72–80 guaranteed hours per pay period
  • Local candidates considered within a 75–100 mile radius

Compliance and Pre-Start Requirements

  • RTO must be submitted two weeks prior to the next schedule and approved by the manager
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Annual fit testing required
  • Negative TB test within 3 months of start
  • Drug screen within 30 days of start
  • Flu vaccination or approved exemption required
  • COVID-19 vaccination is not mandatory
  • Tdap required
  • Measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B immunity/vaccination requirements apply
  • Annual skills checklist required for the specialty
