NICU RN

Overview

  • Travel/Contract role in Clinton, Maryland
  • 13-week contract
  • Day shift: 3x12, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM
  • 36 hours per week
  • Locals within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Maryland
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care (2 years of experience)
  • NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care experience within the last year
  • Experience working with NICU Level 2 patients
  • One completed travel assignment
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NRP
  • Experience with respiratory support via High Flow O2, CPAP, Bubble CPAP, and mechanical ventilation
  • Experience with central line management
  • Experience with peripheral IV insertion
  • Experience with lab draws
  • Experience with administration of IV antibiotics
  • Knowledge of apnea and bradycardia related to the pre-term infant
  • Experience with stabilization of newborns less than 32 weeks and preparation for transport to a Level III facility
  • Experience with thermoregulation in the pre-mature infant and full-term infant related to passive cooling
  • Experience with neonatal resuscitation
  • Every other weekend
  • Every other holiday
  • Float to Postpartum and Labor and Delivery for neonatal care
  • Flu vaccine required

Unit / Clinical Setting

  • NICU / Special Care Nursery
  • Level II unit

Clinical Skills / Experience

  • Respiratory support via High Flow O2, CPAP, Bubble CPAP, and Mechanical Ventilation
  • Management of central lines
  • Peripheral IV insertions
  • Lab draws
  • IV antibiotic administration
  • Knowledge of apnea and bradycardia related to the pre-term infant
  • Stabilization of newborns less than 32 weeks and preparation for transport to a Level III facility
  • Thermoregulation in the pre-mature infant and full-term infant related to passive cooling
  • Neonatal resuscitation
