RN - Med Surg Telemetry

Overview

• Travel RN role in Wilson, North Carolina
• 13-week contract
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• 6 openings
• Shifts: 7A or 7P
• Weekend requirement: every other or every third weekend
• No call required
• Float required
• Med/Surg Overflow
• 22-bed unit
• Adult and geriatric patient population
• Patient ratio: 5:1 or 6:1

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina
• Med Surg / Telemetry (1.5 years of experience)
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• BLS
• ACLS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred Qualifications

• Meditech experience
• Associate degree
• BSN preferred
• EKG interpretation and critical thinking skills
• Ability to manage discharges and admissions
• Basic cardiac drip knowledge

Additional Information

• Orientation is bi-weekly
• Upcoming start dates: 10/12, 10/26, 11/9
• Local candidates must be 60 miles or greater to be considered travel
• Equipment includes Welch Allyn V/S machine, Hoyer Lift with weight scale, Abbott Glucometer, Computers on Wheels, TR band, and Baxter IV pumps
• Common diagnoses/treatments include CHF, CP, ARF, COPD, uncontrolled diabetics, CKD, and post cardiac cath care
• Artificial nails are not allowed
