RN - MSU/PCU Nights

Overview

• Contract RN role in MedSurg/PCU at a 25-bed CAH in Clarkston, Washington.
• Nights, 36 hours per week.
• Contract length: 13 weeks.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Washington.
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year.
• 3 years of PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience.
• Med Surg experience.
• ACLS
• BLS/BCLS

Scheduling / Availability

• Willing and able to work through the upcoming holiday season with minimal RTO dates.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provides patient and significant other education using appropriate education modalities.
• Supports patient safety through preventative measures, including side rails, restraints, and safe equipment use.
• Follows restraint policy correctly and documents appropriately.
• Demonstrates safe operation of equipment in PCU/Telemetry/MedSurg areas.
• Uses troubleshooting techniques, follows repair procedures for essential equipment, and accesses equipment manuals as needed.
• Implements infection control and isolation procedures using proper procedures and documentation.
• Uses standard precautions at all times.
• Maintains complete, accurate, concise documentation of patient status, nursing interventions, and patient responses during the shift.
• Documents charge accurately.
• Completes physician orders accurately and in a timely manner, including the 24-hour check of orders when within shift duties.
• Gives complete and accurate change-of-shift report.
• Communicates completely and accurately with other departments.
• Reports critical lab values to the physician in a timely manner according to policy.
• Maintains and restocks emergency carts, room supplies, and general supplies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
