Description
RN Med Surg
Overview
- Travel assignment in Nashville, Tennessee
- Unit: 6th, Post-Op Med/Surg
- 34 beds
- Patient ratio: 6:1
- Schedule: 3 12-hour shifts per week, with 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule
- Contract length: 13 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Tennessee
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Med Surg (2 years of experience)
- Med Surg experience within the last year
- BLS
- IV insertion skills
- Experience with wound care
- Maintenance of surgical drains
- Experience with NG tubes
- Experience with chest tubes
Unit Details
- Tech support is available on day shift and night shift
- Unit secretary coverage is 7a-7p
- Equipment includes IV pumps, telemetry, SCD’s, continuous pulse ox machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanner, and iMobile communication technology
- Meditech documentation system
- Floating: contract labor is first to float, with rotation used when multiple contract staff are scheduled
- Expected to provide attentive and compassionate care, including bedside shift report and involving patients and family members in the plan of care
