Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST)

Overview

Specialty: Surgical Services
Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Employment type: Travel/Contract
Contract length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day, 4x10 hours, 6:30 AM–5:00 PM
Weekend requirement: 1 weekend shift per 4-week schedule period
On-call: Up to 4 call shifts per 4-week schedule period
Floating: May float within scope to meet facility needs / between like units or sister facilities
First-timers accepted: Yes
Trauma level: Level 1 trauma
Unit / setting: Main Operating Room in a level-one academic trauma center with 21 OR suites

Required Qualifications

Certified Surgical Technologist with 2 years of experience
Certified Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
NBSTSA
BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients

Preferred Qualifications

Neuro cases (spines/crani)
ENT cases (flaps)
Robotics cases (Davinci Xi)

Clinical Experience / Case Mix

Ortho: total joints, spine, trauma
Neuro: crani, spine
ENT: flaps
Robotics
Transplants / procurements
Trauma / burns
GU / GYN

Additional Notes

Holiday rotation required
Scrub color is provided
Charting system: EPIC
Local candidates are accepted within a 60-mile radius
Parking requires a $20 registration fee for a hang tag; additional parking fees may apply outside the garage
Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season
