Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Adults

Overview

Travel/contract role in Roanoke, Virginia
Day shift: 3x12s, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM, every other weekend
13-week contract
First-time travelers accepted
Locals not accepted
Must work one holiday per 13-week contract
Floating required within skillset

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Virginia
Registered Respiratory Therapist with 1 year of experience
Registered Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
BLS issued by American Heart Association
ACLS issued by American Heart Association
Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
Experience working with Adolescent patients
Experience working with Adult patients
Experience working with Geriatric patients
Experience working with Neuro Trauma patients
Experience working with Cardiac patients
Critical care experience in high-volume ER and Level 1 Trauma Center including Neurotrauma, cardiovascular services, and medical/surgical ICU patients
Ability to interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs)
Experience with ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, HFNC, flow-by, troubleshooting high-pressure alarms, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
Airway management including extubation, oral/nasal airway placement, suctioning, sputum collection, and tracheostomy care
Experience with Epic
Must be able to provide a Drivers License/State ID within 48 hours of signing

Aerosol and medication delivery systems, including mask, trach, MDI, and Medihaler
Administration of Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, Pulmicort, Mucomyst, racemic epinephrine, inhaled Flolan, inhaled steroids, bicarbonate, and lidocaine
ABG interpretation and ventilator management, including BiPAP, CPAP, HFNC, flow-by, troubleshooting high-pressure alarms, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
Airway management, including extubation, oral/nasal airway placement, suctioning, sputum collection, and tracheostomy care
Oxygen therapy and nebulizer setups, including handheld, T-piece, trach collar, and ultrasonic

Equipment includes Servo I, Servo U, V-60 BiPAP, Optiflow heated high flow, iNO with the iNOvent, and LTV1200
