Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Leonardtown, Maryland
• Adult-only MS/Tele RN
• 13-week assignment
• Night shift: 3x12, 19:00–7:30
• 36 hours per week
• Start date: weekly orientation
• Weekend coverage: every other weekend; 6 weekend shifts in 6 weeks per contract
• Float scope: within units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Patient ratio: 1:5
• Scrubs not provided: Caribbean Blue

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Maryland
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Driver's License
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• Telemetry monitoring
• Interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Management of dysrhythmias
• Adult MS tele only; travelers are not expected to care for pediatric patients or hold PALS certification

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS

Unit Details

• Adult telemetry unit
• Most surgical cases are placed on the unit
• Large orthopedic program: total joints
• Also receives colorectal surgeries, vascular procedures, bariatric surgery, and general medicine/observation patients
• Patient diagnoses include diabetes, congestive heart failure, infection, sepsis, COPD, general surgery, sickle cell crisis, GI bleed, and diverticulitis
• Special equipment includes patient lifts (ceiling and portable), CADD pump, chest tubes, telemetry monitoring, and capnography
