Ultrasound Tech - General

Overview

• Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
• Location: Jacksonville, Texas
• Employment type: Travel/Contract
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Day, 5 x 8-hour shifts (8:00 to 16:30)
• Hours: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week

Clinical Scope

• General ultrasound: abdomen, OB (1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimesters), pelvic, and transvaginal
• Vascular: carotids, DVT, arterials, and aortas

Required Qualifications

• Ultrasound Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association, American Red Cross, RQI, or American Safety and Health Institute
• ARRT (Sonography) certification
• RDMS-AB certification
• RDMS-OB certification
• RDMS-BR certification

Required as Applicable

• ACLS, PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, MAB, NIH Stroke, and CPI certifications, each required only as applicable to the assignment

Pre-Start Requirements

• Background and eligibility: 7-year background check completed within 1 year of start and updated annually (includes SSN trace, county criminal searches for the last 7 years, nationwide sex offender search, and education verification of highest level). EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks are required upon hire. E-Verify is required for direct candidates, and an attestation is required for subcontracted candidates.
• Identification and documents: Driver's license or state ID; clear headshot for badge; complete employment application or resume; state license primary-source online verification
• Work history: 7-year work history verification
• Health: Physical exam within 12 months of start; negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start; TB screening (negative 2-step PPD, QuantiFERON, or T-SPOT) within 1 year of start, with additional steps required for positive results; Tdap within 10 years of start; immunity documentation (titer or vaccines) for measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, and varicella
• Flu vaccination: Required during flu season (10/01 to 03/31) for all candidates, or an agency-approved medical or religious exemption. Declinations are not accepted. Working candidates must meet the deadline of 11/15.
• Fit testing: Required within 1 year of start and renewed annually; onsite fit testing is available at some locations
• Competencies: Color blind test (required for all candidates); medication/pharmacology competency exam (minimum 80% score unless a higher standard applies); unit-specific skills checklist completed annually
• Orientation: Safety manual acknowledgment (HIPAA form or core testing)
