- Shift Duration: 8 Hour Days
- Hours per Week: 40
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,583 - $1,758
Qualifications – Registered Dietitian Nutritionist
- Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition & Dietetics required; Master’s Degree preferred
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential from the Commission on Dietetic Registration required
- Certified Dietitian Nutritionist (CDN) – New York State (must obtain within 12 months of employment)
- 2-4 years of clinical dietitian experience in a hospital or healthcare setting
- Proficient in English written and verbal communication
- Strong verbal communication and listening skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Demonstrated analytical, time management, and decision-making skills
- Ability to build strong patient and customer relationships
- Oncology nutrition experience preferred
Clinical Dietitian Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nutrition care to patients of all ages, including critical care units (ICU and PICU)
- Assess nutrition needs, develop, implement, and re-evaluate individualized care plans
- Educate patients and families on nutrition and dietary guidelines
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to communicate patient nutrition issues and recommendations
- Modify diet orders and recommend enteral feeding modifications and nutrition supplements
- Conduct initial nutrition screenings and classify patient nutrition risk levels
- Complete thorough nutrition assessments within required timeframes
- Calculate patient nutrition requirements using standardized formulas
- Monitor and adjust care plans based on changes in patient nutrition status
- Coordinate enteral feeding and outpatient/home care services prior to discharge
- Refer patients to additional healthcare services as needed (GI Nutrition, Social Services, Speech Therapy)
