  • Shifts per Week: 5
  • Shift Duration: 8 Hour Days
  • Hours per Week: 40
  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,583 - $1,758

Qualifications – Registered Dietitian Nutritionist

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition & Dietetics required; Master’s Degree preferred
  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential from the Commission on Dietetic Registration required
  • Certified Dietitian Nutritionist (CDN) – New York State (must obtain within 12 months of employment)
  • 2-4 years of clinical dietitian experience in a hospital or healthcare setting
  • Proficient in English written and verbal communication
  • Strong verbal communication and listening skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Demonstrated analytical, time management, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to build strong patient and customer relationships
  • Oncology nutrition experience preferred

Clinical Dietitian Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive nutrition care to patients of all ages, including critical care units (ICU and PICU)
  • Assess nutrition needs, develop, implement, and re-evaluate individualized care plans
  • Educate patients and families on nutrition and dietary guidelines
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to communicate patient nutrition issues and recommendations
  • Modify diet orders and recommend enteral feeding modifications and nutrition supplements
  • Conduct initial nutrition screenings and classify patient nutrition risk levels
  • Complete thorough nutrition assessments within required timeframes
  • Calculate patient nutrition requirements using standardized formulas
  • Monitor and adjust care plans based on changes in patient nutrition status
  • Coordinate enteral feeding and outpatient/home care services prior to discharge
  • Refer patients to additional healthcare services as needed (GI Nutrition, Social Services, Speech Therapy)
