Cytotechnologist Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Cytotechnologist or Cyto Tech in a hospital or clinical laboratory
• Certification as a Cytotechnologist (ASCP or equivalent preferred)
• Expertise in cytology specimen analysis and laboratory procedures
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in cytology screening
• Ability to work independently and within a healthcare team
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Cytology Job Responsibilities

• Prepare, examine, and analyze cytology specimens using established clinical laboratory techniques
• Screen and interpret slides for cellular abnormalities, including cancer and infectious diseases
• Document findings and maintain accurate laboratory records
• Collaborate with pathologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care
• Maintain laboratory equipment and adhere to safety protocols
• Participate in continuing education and quality improvement initiatives
