Respiratory Therapist Job Details

- Contract Type: Travel Respiratory Therapist

- Duration: 13-week contract
- Shifts: 4x12-hour shifts per week (Day: 07:00-19:30, Night: 18:30-07:00, rotating)
- Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend; holidays as needed
- Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
- Charting System: Cerner
- Scrub Color: Olive Green (not provided)
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1450-$1560
Registered Respiratory Therapist Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist in Trauma, ER, and Adult ICU settings
- Current DC RRT State License or proof of application (Washington, DC respiratory therapist jobs)
- CRT or RRT credential required
- BLS certification (required)
- ACLS certification (preferred)
- Experience with Puritan Bennett, Draeger, Servo I, Evita XL, and Viasys ventilators preferred
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
- Two supervisor references required
- First-time travel respiratory therapists accepted (will be screened)
Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive respiratory care to adult and geriatric patients, including ventilator management, high-flow therapy, BiPAP, aerosol treatments, and chest physical therapy
- Perform procedures such as extubation, airway placement, suctioning, and pulmonary hygiene
- Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and troubleshoot high-pressure alarms
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in Trauma, ER, and Adult ICU units
- Utilize advanced respiratory equipment and chart patient care using Cerner
- Participate in weekend and holiday coverage as scheduled
- Complete required orientation and training modules prior to and during assignment
