Respiratory Therapist Qualifications

• Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent hospital-based respiratory therapy experience
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including days, evenings, nights, or rotating schedules
• Strong communication and teamwork skills in a clinical setting
• Current BLS certification (Basic Life Support)

Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care to patients in a hospital environment
• Administer and monitor respiratory therapy treatments and procedures
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
• Perform diagnostic respiratory tests and assess patient respiratory status
• Accurately document all care provided in accordance with hospital and healthcare policies
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care techniques and equipment
