Medical Lab Technician Job Details

• Location: Elmer, NJ (Zip: 08318) – with floating to Vineland, NJ as required
• Healthcare Setting: Acute Hospital Laboratory
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Shift: 9:00 PM – 7:30 AM (overnight shift)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday (none fall within assignment dates)
• Start Date: January 5, 2026
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,690 - $1,820
• Pay Rate: $69.75 per hour
• RTO Policy: Maximum 3 days off per 13-week assignment
• Employment Type: On-Site, Contract

Medical Laboratory Technician Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician in an acute hospital or clinical laboratory setting
• Blood Bank experience required
• ASCP certification required (American Society for Clinical Pathology)
• Travel healthcare or contract lab experience preferred
• Ability and willingness to float between Elmer and Vineland, NJ laboratory locations
• Completion of all required orientation modules and in-person training sessions

Key Responsibilities

• Perform clinical laboratory testing and analysis according to hospital and healthcare protocols
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment and instrumentation
• Accurately report laboratory results to physicians and clinical staff
• Participate in blood bank operations, including transfusion procedures and cross-matching
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to support patient care
• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety, quality control, and regulatory standards
• Complete all required orientation and training, including virtual and in-person classes
• Demonstrate flexibility to float between Elmer and Vineland laboratory locations as needed
